(IAWA) was founded to promote the creation, publication and dissemination of Italian American literature, to encourage cooperation and free interaction among writers, students and others of all backgrounds engaged in Italian American and related literary activities and to foster an appreciation of Italian American literature. Towards these ends, the following activities/mailings are now in place: Monthly Newsletter contains a calendar of events either sponsored by IAWA, or events by individual members of IAWA or events of interest to Italian American writers such as contests and workshops. To place your name on our newsletter mailing list, send your email to iawanewsletter@aol.com or to IAWA, PO Box 418, Brooklyn, NY 11215. Open Reading is held on the 2nd Saturday of the month at the Cornelia Street Café (29 Cornelia Street Cafe) from 5:45 P.M. to 7:45 P.M..
