Biography: (1883-1963) William Carlos Williams was born in Rutherford, New Jersey, into a Spanish speaking household. Williams received his MD from the University of Pennsylvania, where he met Ezra Pound. Williams worked in Manhattan, New York, and was Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress in 1952.
