Full Name: Martin Willitts Jr
Biography:
Martin Willitts, Jr. was born in East Syracuse, New York. He has received his B.A. from Onondaga Community College and State University of New York College at Brockport, and his MLS in Information Studies at Syracuse University. He has been a librarian for over 30 yeas and is currently a Prison Librarian for the New York Department of Corrections. He has won many librarian awards including the International John Cotton Dana Award. He is an Oral Storyteller that has performed at the Kennedy Performing Arts Center. He provides Science? Magic? Tricks like bouncing eggs and throwing cards into watermelons. http://performersandprograms.com/region.cfm?region=3. He is a master at origami and paper cut-outs which have been displayed in art museums. He has received Poets And Writers grants and decentralization grants. His poems have appeared widely in national and international magazines, and some have been translated. He has been nominated for a Pushcart Award.
