Full Name: Linda Lerner
Biography:
Linda Lerner's poetry has its roots in an unhappy Brooklyn childhood, in the blues. She lives in New York City & is the author of six collections of poetry. Her collections include Anytimeblues (Ye Olde Font Shoppe Press, 1999), No Earthly Sense Gets it Right, (Lummox Press,2000, nominated for a Pushcart Prize). Her interview with Hayden Carruth appeared in the 50th issue of The New York Quarterly; one with Robert Peters is in the 51st issue of Chiron Review. She has also reviewed poetry collections for Home Planet News, as well as other publications. For 5 years she edited a semi annual on-line anthology, Poets-on-The-Line http://www.echonyc.com/~poets - which she co-founded with Andrew Gettler in 1995. Nos. 6 & 7 (1997 / 98 ) Vietnam Veterans / Poets was the recipient of a 1997 Puffin Foundation Grant & Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation Grant. With the double Millennium issue (Jan. 2000) Poets on the line ceased publishing on a regular basis. The anthology can still be accessed on-line. Linda Lerner's poems have appeared in hundreds of journals, including The New York Quarterly, Home Planet News, Bouillabaisse, Rattle, Slipstream, Haight Ashbury Literary Journal, Ragged Lion Anthology & Chiron Review. In the last few years she has given featured readings at the Knitting Factory & other venues in NYC, as well as throughout the tri state & New England area, including reading at the tribute to 30 years Beat & Bohemian influences (arts Festival at Cherry Valley--8/7--8/98. Other featured readings include: Stone Soup Poets (Boston) , the Maple Leaf Bar, (New Orleans), Above Paradise (San Francisco) & reading at the North Beach Fair in SF (June 2000), & Beyond Baroque (LA, Calif.) In June 2001, she will be giving readings in Chicago.

Dates Available: I teach at a couple of colleges, part time, so generally on vacations, (weekends in around Woodstock) or in August & Fri. thru Sun. in July.--varies)
Fees: Negotiable, but absolute minimum is $100-$150 plus travel, lodging, & meals.
