| Event Description: | CAROL V. DAVIS, Los Angeles, CA, won the 2007 T.S. Eliot Prize for Into the Arms of Pushkin: Poems of St. Petersburg (Truman State University Press, 2007). Her other books are It’s Time to Talk About, published in a bilingual collection by Symposium publishers, Russia, (1997) and two chapbooks, Letters From Prague and The Violin Teacher. Twice a Fulbright scholar in Russia, she was the 2008 poet-in-residence at Olivet College, MI and teaches at Santa Monica College, CA. Matthew J. Spireng of Lomontville, New York, is a widely published, award-winning poet. His first chapbook, Inspiration Point, won the 2000 Bright Hill Press Poetry Chapbook Competition. His first full-length book, Out of Body, won the 2004 Bluestem Poetry Award and was published in 2006 by Bluestem Press at Emporia State University. His full-length book What Focus Is was published in 2011 by Word Press. Free to age 18 and under. |
