| Event Description: | Cave Canem is a home for the many voices of African American poetry and is committed to cultivating the artistic and professional growth of African American poets. Featuring R. Dwayne Betts, Raina Leon and January Gill O'Neil. R. Dwayne Betts is the author of "A Question of Freedom: A Memoir of Learning, Survival, and Coming of Age in Prison." His collection of poems, "Shahid Reads His Own Palm," is forthcoming in 2010. Raina Leon’s first collection of poetry, "Canticle of Idols," was a finalist for the Cave Canem First Book Poetry Prize. January Gill O’Neil is the author of "Underlife," a collection of poems. Co-sponsored by Cave Canem |
