Event Description: When: Wednesday, May 30th, 6:30pm Where: 28 W. 27th St., 3rd Floor, New York, NY Subway: N/R to 28th St, or F to 23rd St Admission: $10 suggested donation/ $5 Members Joseph Donahue and Michael O'Brien will read their work at The Center for Book Arts on Wednesday May 30th at 6:30pm. A poem by each poet will be printed by artists at the Center in the form of a limited edition letterpress broadside. Guests will receive free copies signed by the authors. This event is organized by James Walsh and is the second of a series of three broadside readings held at the Center. Joseph Donahue is the author of eight poetry collections and the editor of two poetry anthologies. Additionally, he has published poems in The Colorado Review, The Cincinnati Review, New Directions, The Village Voice Literary Supplement, and The World. Born in Texas, Donahue grew up in Massachusetts and has spent significant time in New York City and Seattle. He received his MFA and PhD in English from Columbia University and currently teaches at Duke University. Michael O’Brien has published five poetry collections, including Sleeping and Waking, which received critical acclaim and was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. O’Brien began his career as one of the Eventorium poets, a group of New York writers heavily influenced by surrealism. He studied at Fordham University, the University of Paris, and Columbia University and taught at Brooklyn College and Hunter College.
