Event Description: The Unicorn Writers Conference! DATE: Saturday, April 10, 2010 TIME: 8 AM - 9:30 PM PLACE: Oronoque Country Club, Stratford, CT SO EXCITING! Our special guest speaker will be GENE WILDER! And Jodee Blanco will deliver our keynote address. The Unicorn Writers Conference will be as valuable to published authors as it will be to beginners, and it will offer dozens of workshops dealing with everything from career to craft. Sessions offered will discuss the inside world of book publishing from the perspectives of various departments within a publishing company: Contracts • Copyrights • Permissions • Legal • Subsidiary Rights • Foreign Rights • Audio, Electronic • Special Sales/Premium Sales • Marketing • Advertising • Promotion • Publicity • Sales • Royalties • Art & Design • Production. Also, we'll offer writing workshops focusing on the key genres: Memoir, Children's Books, Mystery Writing, Screenwriting, Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry, Horror/Fantasy, Romance. Plus, of course, we'll have a panel of Literary Agents and Editors. Our Conference will also include breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as a networking party afterward with live band and dancing. We will, of course, have an ongoing book sale and signing supporting all our participating speakers' publications. One-On_One Manuscript review sessions available for an additional cost.
