| Event Description: | Four centuries of journal entries, arranged day by day throughout a calendar year, offer a vivid and varied snapshot of life in New York City as it has been lived since Henry Hudson first sailed into New York’s Upper Bay. Join editor Teresa Carpenter, a Pulitzer Prizewinning journalist and New York historian, for a reading from her mesmerizing book and a discussion of the diverse lives of New Yorkers, including everyone from Henry Hudson to Edgar Allan Poe to Joyce Carol Oates.
